Aimee Greenberg: Artist statement
Best known for my signature piece Dark Moon of Lilith, some of my original work explores the role of women in society that reaches back to ancient mythology and swings forward to the present: with attention to issues related to the mythos and reality of being a woman.
As a director, I embrace all forms of theatre and I am most passionate about devising and producing new works, site-specific performances and re-staging classics and obscure works. I am drawn to plays that explore dystopian worlds, identity, alienation and loss.
My aesthetic draws from a wide-range of influences including: digital platforms, mask work, Butoh, Noh, magic realism and absurdism.
